Matthew C. Malen began his career with Kegel, Tobin & Truce in 2010. He represents insured employers and their carriers in the defense of matters before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
Experience: Mr. Malen began his legal career as an intern at the Legal Aid Society of Orange County. In addition he interned at Pedersen Law and Dispute Resolution Corporation which provides legal services in the areas of insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, employment, wrongful termination, discrimination litigation, general counsel services, and business litigation. After admission to the State Bar in 2007, Mr. Malen became an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Daniel P. Goggins where he represented employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators throughout California in all aspects of Workers' Compensation defense including Civil Subrogation, Serious & Willful Misconduct, and California Labor Code Section 132a defense.
Education: Mr. Malen earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2004. He received his law degree from Western State University College of Law in 2007.
