ASSOCIATE

Jennifer Richardson began working at Kegel, Tobin & Truce in 2010.  She represents insured employers and their carriers in the defense of matters before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.

Experience: Ms. Richardson began her legal career clerking at the ERISA and employment law firm Lewis, Feinberg, Lee, Renaker & Jackson in Oakland and then at the employment law firm Rudy, Exelrod & Zieff in San Francisco. She was a federal judicial extern to Judge Claudia Wilken at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and a legal extern for the Legal Aid Society - Employment Law Center in San Francisco where she worked on the Domestic Violence Employment Project.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Richardson went on to practice labor law for the law firm Schwartz, Steinsapir, Dohrmann & Sommers LLP.  While practicing labor law, Ms. Richardson represented both public and private sector union members pursuing grievances as well as represented and advised unions in their management capacity in labor and employment matters. 

Before joining Kegel, Tobin & Truce, Ms. Richardson gained valuable experience in the workers’ compensation arena at Hayford & Felchlin, LLP.

Education: Ms. Richardson received her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was selected as a Haas Scholar.  She earned her law degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2002 with a certificate in Public Service Law.  While at UC Davis, Ms. Richardson published an interview about the Fair Labor Standards Act in the Davis Business Law Journal.
