Carmen Louisa Ponce began working for Kegel, Tobin & Truce in 2009. She defends insured employers and their carriers in the defense of matters before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
Experience: Ms. Ponce has comprehensive experience in civil defense litigation. She began her legal career representing a large building and property full service management company in premises liability litigation, elevator and escalator litigation, and general negligence cases. She has handled matters in both state and federal jurisdictions. Ms. Ponce was also a Certified Law Clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where she was responsible for conducting bench trials in juvenile cases.
Prior to joining Kegel, Tobin and Truce, Ms. Ponce was employed as an associate attorney at Bowman and Brooke, where she defend primarily automotive manufacturers in products liability and asbestos litigation.
Education: Ms. Ponce earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, with an emphasis in History, from the University of Southern California in 1998. She received her law degree from the Loyola Law School in 2002.
